I've spent time reflecting on my experience as a Bernie supporter in 2016 vs my experience as a Pete (& then Biden) supporter in 2020.

Want to know why so many of us that consider ourselves leftists left Bernie after 16? It wasn't because his very online supporters were "mean."
It was bc they were the wokeist of the woke... The woke police... Until they felt their leader, their savior, was threatened.

Then it didn't matter how misogynistic they were. It didn't matter how gross they treated Hillary. It was worth it if Bernie won, bc healthcare I guess.
As if expanded healthcare access and eventual universal coverage isn't the goal of every Democrat. 🙄

They did the same thing to Kamala Harris' campaign. Burn it down, she's a threat. Call her a cop. You all saw the grim reaper meme with the Bernie 2020 logo on the robes.
Whatever it took. It didn't matter that she was a woman. Or Asian American. Or Black. All that mattered was that her existence in the primary threatened Bernie and she had to be destroyed.

It was done in gross racist and misogynistic ways.

Then they did the same to Pete.
I definitely don't need to tell Team Pete about that. Bernie supporters would tell you they're the best friends of the gays, they show up and support Pride... But when Pete was a threat, they passed around a meme of a gay rape scene like it was candy, laughing about Pete.
We also saw it often in Pete's campaign when it came to black people. Specifically when black people worked for him, supported him, or endorsed him, there were constant accusations that they were either fake (supporters) or paid off.
Now they're doing that particularly gross thing again when it comes to Joe Kennedy's campaign... https://twitter.com/TheStefanSmith/status/1298034628335411202?s=19
For a certain sect of the very online left, people stop being people and start being hurdles to tear down in our to reach their goals and elevate their savior.

Even if it means sacrificing the very communities they claim to be fighting for.
So don't wonder why we don't want to be involved with that. You can't be protesting for BLM one day & the next accusing a black elected official of taking a bribe to endorse someone just because it wasn't the person you wanted him to endorse.

The political spectrum is a circle.
Sacrificing human and equal rights to support a singular candidate definitely feels like we've reached the connection between left and right.

You're not going to build a coalition there.
So miss me when yall can't figure out why those who are still With Her, the KHive, Team Pete, & all the candidates' supporters you trashed won't jump on board whatever anointed candidate you try to force us to support.

I bet Joe Kennedy's won't either. https://twitter.com/joekennedy/status/1298021250493829122?s=19
