NY Literary Assistant Agent Sasha White, who announced the job a few weeks ago, was fired for transphobia.

Like many anti-trans folks, Sasha maintains that her firing was merely due to a feminist stance. This concerned me when a Radical Feminist DMed me — so I took a look...
Her agency, Tobias Literary Agency, has leadership that is EXPLICITLY looking for diversity and has looked for LGBTQ and BIPOC voices in genre fiction. They recognize historic inequity.

They also are trying to open a location in LA and want IP that can used across medias...
Two huge areas trans writers have made headway as writers is either LGBTQ stuff (writing about being trans) OR genre fiction. Most of the trans writers who have seniority in Hollywood are Genre writers.

So this is a new assistant agent in a field that trans folks see as possible
I don’t believe that ANYONE should be fired for political opinion. This includes Radical Feminist analysis.

But you can be fired if you opinion leads to “isms” or is abusive to individuals or reflects poorly on your private workplace’s culture or values...
Which is how Tobias sees it. Their employee made anti-trans remarks that goes against the values of her employer. The employer engaged in restorative acts of donating to Black trans women (important later) and queried trans authors...
The company and bosses have protected their tweets from a hailstorm of GC/TERF activists on Twitter who calling them misogynists and threatening to sue.

Their take is that Sasha merely expressed Feminist opinion and was retaliated against for it...
They are also criticizing author Bethany Baptiste, the cis Black woman writer, who revealed Sasha’s transphobia in an act of allyship.

Give her a follow and buy her work @StorySorcery ...
Sasha’s main account was created in 2015 but her anti-trans anon account was created this year in support of JK Rowling / Maya Forrester.

This is her second tweet:
A lot of her anon account (her real name/face went on in June — most of this was anon) is stanning JK.

But she also replied to author @MaraWilson implying that trans women need locker room access for perverted reasons...
She also cites Black trans author Janet M*ck as the reason she became transphobic. You know — because it takes a reason.

“Huge fake tits out of their tight dresses etc.” She ignores queer trans culture completely —
This isn’t her only opinion on high femme Black celebrity culture
I wouldn’t find her lack of BLM posts on either accounts or lack of explicitly querying Black writers strange but — she does that thing of appropriating Black women suffering for her feminism / transphobia —
Loves racial metaphors for trans lives and weirdly defends Karen’s? Anyway — back to to overall trans stuff...
Because she expresses a lot of delight over the courage to “offend” trans folks.

Her feminist analysis includes a lot of cartoons and memes including directly @ing trans folks
It gets weird when it turns violent. She’s allowed to “seeth” in secret and think all of her friends are brainwashed —

But to applaud trans women being attacked in the bathroom as standing ground? She’s admitted to confronting trans women.

These aren’t thought crimes
Hitting trans women in bathroom is actual crime. It is assault. And it’s beyond creepy to defend it.

You can only justify this kind of abuse if you dehumanize the person you are abusing — like dysphoria or suicide is manipulation.

Trans people are mentally vunerable..
The way she describes trans health care as mutilation is so hyperbolic/cruel.

She also appears to have no connection to queer culture (but isn’t afraid to talk about it 🙄) or an understanding that plenty of butches get top surgery and plenty of cis women get breast reduction
She posts about “truth” but believes Twitter is forcing unfollows for feminists or boys are taking women’s elite athlete scholarships — right now — and fights with individual trans people about it.
There will be liars who say she was fired for saying “biology is real.”

They will say she has mere feminist analysis.

But she made an anon account explicitly to attack trans people and filled it with hyperbole, enjoyment of mocking trans folks, anti-trans posts to celebrities
She directly confronted individual trans people on Twitter, advocated for bathroom assault as defense, criticized the appearance of individual Black trans women, and @ replied authors and people in her industry.

No job is going to be ok with that unless your job is transphobia
She ignores LGBTQ+ culture. Asserting that men can’t be feminine. As if there aren’t 1000 models for that.

She’ll alternately take the stance that trans women are perverts, self loathing homosexuals, mentally ill, barbies, etc. Having never read our books or theory.
Zero feminist analysis on celebrity, how trans women are expected to perform hyper femininity, how Black trans women perform realness to avoid being murdered, or WHY the trans women she heard of through 2014 interviews happen to be the ones who fit cisnormative beauty standards
There are MANY ways to have Radical Feminist Analysis -- which is class based -- that sees trans people as victims of the patriarchy. There are a lot of Feminists who negotiate with trans rights under law to protect women as class.

These women work openly in different fields.
There are trans people who have the same analysis and do the same work. It's rare to nil that they lose their jobs.

But creating anon accounts to do 24/7 anti-trans work -- that's a different deal. You're choosing your lifestyle at that point. It's an untethered obsession.
There hasn't been a single new piece of Radical Feminist analysis for trans women since the Barnard Conference.

I LIKE roots theory, I don't know a feminists who doesn't, but everyone is going to be accountable for how they apply it to their lives and interactions.
The worst take — is that 3rd wave feminists have never heard the analysis and didn’t fully reject it in the 80s.

It’s the “have you heard the good news?!” of feminism.

Yeah, we heard it.
Here she is making trans people’s genitals the butt of jokes — complete with vomit emojis
A LOT of her tweets are fan-girling JK with no response.

Including when JK shamed trans author Jenny Boylan — which seems material in her job as a lit agent.
She shared this tweet about provoking trans people to reveal their behavior.

This is a GC tactic you will see a lot. They pile on to green trans folks to screen capture them saying something stupid — this contributes to “PEAK trans”-ing — making people sick of trans liberation
And there is a bunch of stuff around bravery, a new wave, the future. She seems to see herself as a feminist hero — bravely standing up against the inherent misogyny of the existence of trans folks.
She is in solidarity with everyone who walked the path before her
Trans folks and our allies remember that path.

We are not going back in the closet.

We will not be publicly shamed.

We are not going to be morally mandated out of existence.

We will fight anti-trans violence and discrimination
There is some class-based compromise that will happen around elite sports and trauma spaces at a legal level. The Olympics have been dealing with this for decades.

There will be some changes to wording around Gender Identity in the Equality Act if Biden is elected...
