When a person gets tested for COVID, tests positive, or is symptomatic, she receives a great deal of information about the physical effects of the virus. What is truly lacking is information about the mental/emotional effects. The range of emotions felt from the time of
symptoms to testing to positive test to isolation is incredible. I felt anxiety, anger, shame, guilt, sadness, depression and loneliness. Thankfully, I have an incredible support system made up of friends, family, and work family. Others do not have that. Health departments
and testing facilities need to give information about the effects on mental health and who to call if help is needed. Please check on those who may be affected. #mentalhealth #COVID19
