We started the morning of August 1st with 6 confirmed cases in hospital, it's at 27 today.
The idea that all these cases wouldn't make more people sick was always ludicrous on its face.
I'll break down the August cases to illustrate: https://twitter.com/Louise11121850/status/1297899911552348160

By age, August 1st to August 24th:
0-4: 73 cases
5-14: 142 cases
15-24: 392 cases
25-34: 455 cases
35-44: 337 cases
45-54: 269 cases
55-64: 155 cases
65-74: 58 cases
75-84: 33 cases
85+: 10 cases

So, 1,399 (73%) of the cases in August were 45-years-old or younger. 525 (27%) cases were over 45-years-old.
The 43 cases in the over 75 age range is extremely impressive as it's firm evidence older people in Ireland are protecting themselves.

It also shows that the younger people of Ireland are being diligent around their parents and grandparents, not to pass on infection.
But that's still 525 cases over 45-years-old, and was always going to result in some of them getting very sick.

The rising hospital admissions throughout the month are because we have rising cases.
The people who were arguing Covid19 is weaker or that all these cases wouldn't lead to sickness, were talking absolute rubbish.
More cases never *ever* translates to "fewer sick people".

If the current rates of infection continues, at roughly the same demographic of infection, we will have 100 people in hospital quite soon (within a couple of weeks).
We have to reduce case loads or people will get sick, it's simple as that.
Any other argument is a myth.
