a thread of white jews, and how to grapple with our existence through analogy:

every passing trans man i know (and even many butch lesbians) will say they have male privilege. none of us were born male or are male in the way cis men are. but we have male privilege even if we have another struggle—EVEN with that struggle being intertwined.

another way to think about it: just because you are cisgender doesn’t mean you like your body!! it means your gender doesn’t add to any potential existing issues you may have. the absence of one specific struggle does not negate the presence of a different struggle.

white jews are white and thus experience white privilege.
