Dear Young Person

We live in a time where Social Media is full of success stories of people in our Generation making big moves.

It& #39;s worth celebrating.

But at the same time, it creates an illusion of success especially for young people still trying to find their place.

1/?
Understand this

You& #39;re in your late teens, early 20& #39;s

It& #39;s okay to not have shit figured out.
It& #39;s perfectly okay.

And don& #39;t take this to mean I& #39;m encouraging unseriouness or a nonchallant view on life.
I am just being frank here.

2/?
Don& #39;t let Social Media and LinkedIn confuse you into thinking there& #39;s something wrong with you because you& #39;re not the CEO of some Tech Startup or you& #39;re not a famous musician, or you& #39;re not bagging multiple online certifications and degrees.

There& #39;s nothing wrong with you.

3/?
It& #39;s good to have dreams and a vision. Infact it& #39;s healthy. And if you& #39;re accomplishing them early in your life and quickly at that, it& #39;s wonderful and I& #39;m happy for you.

I mean, it& #39;s exciting to see young people doing big and wonderful things in the world.

4/?
But the problem arises when you begin comparing yourself with other people who you think are seemingly doing better than you, you& #39;re honestly going to burn yourself out.

The only person you should be in competition with is yourself.
And that& #39;s the gospel truth

5/?
Like I said, I& #39;m not asking you to be unserious and unnecessarily laid back.

Always make sure to put in the time, put in the effort and always try to be a better version of yourself each new day.

There& #39;s a wide difference between unseriouness and intentional growth.

6/?
But regardless, still celebrate your little wins.
Don& #39;t be clouded by what constitutes as "success" in our world today.

Just do you and have fun doing it.

Celebrate your little achievements and the daily goals you accomplish.
It& #39;ll help you see yourself in a better light.

7/?
And never forget this.

You& #39;re a success just by living and making the conscious effort to grow.

You don& #39;t have to be the next Zuckerberg to finally consider yourself a success.

Divert all that attention on simply being the best YOU.

Everything else will fall in place.
