Your obsession with ‘representation’ is leading to army of respectable ‘professionals’ happy to sit at the Master’s table to the Master’s work. And actually none of them ‘represent’ me.
And also when we’re ready we’ll need to talk about how racist & paternalistic this ‘representation’ take. Only objectified bodies can ever represent a whole of other bodies. Represent a thing. A class of bodies.
Flattening, homogenising & globalising experiences is not only a way to dehumanise, it’s actually away to protect power. So that one or those two ‘representative’ bodies can become *evidence* we’re not* racist & we’re ‘inclusive’.
Regardless of how white they are asked to become. Regardless of how poorly they’re treat them. Regardless of the fact the reason they’re accepted is precisely because they are willing to leave their blackness or ‘otherness’ out. Hence strengthen the status-quo.
And ‘representation’ is also the reason some of us fight bc we’ve truly internalised the idea a voice can speak for all. That there can therefore only ever be a single body for all bodies... some of y’all fighting to be that body. You need to free the Master that lives inside you
Scarcity mentality.
