Just read back to back tweets from two different Christians about the latest scandal. One offered the person the grace of the gospel. The other danced on his proverbial grave. Shouldn't we shoot for the first response?
Grace is grace and it's for everyone. Rich and poor. Powerful and powerless.
In the New Testament, the gospel is for prostitutes and preachers, for the poor and the tax collectors who extort them.
Twitter did *not* like this thread.
just FYI here was the tweet offering grace. No excuses, no cheap grace, no easy way back, no cover up. Just a simple call to repentance and faith in the gospel. Put me down for this no matter how unfashionable https://twitter.com/jaredcwilson/status/1297970968242135041?s=20
We can be glad that sin is exposed without gloating over it.
Grace doesn't mean excusing sin or removing its temporal consequences. But the call of the gospel goes to literally everyone. Beware in your righteous quest for justice that you don't lose the gospel.
