Ok so can anyone tell me why this is a good idea. Sure it helps the bottom line of MLB and kinda helps some of the branches on the tree, but it& #39;s all unneeded. This isn& #39;t growing the game, nobody wants this. If @MLB wants to grow the game and reach that coveted sub-25 age demographic here is a few changes that will actually do something.
1. Throw the & #39;unwritten& #39; rules out the window. Kids want flash and personality. Hence why the NBA has grown ridiculously fast.

2. Stop f& #39;ing with @MiLB and their operators. This is where fans are made. 90%+ of baseball fans aren& #39;t within 90 minutes of an MLB park they fall in love with game at local minor league parks.
2. Also tossing these teams some cash wouldn& #39;t hurt either. I& #39;m not saying fund them completely but having parent clubs ignore financially then demand expensive renos be made in just 6 months time at the operator& #39;s expense is ridiculous.
3. Fix the service time manipulation. It& #39;s unfair tobthe players and quite frankly makes the offseason boring and the business end hard to follow. I can& #39;t get invested if I don& #39;t know what& #39;s happening. Simplify it. Have it so a player can only be drafted 1 time and the team ....
holds their rights for 5 years (18-23) then when the player is either 26 or has the equivalent of 3 years service time they& #39;re a RFA. Make the penalty for signing an RFA low (draft pick lose or small money sum). If the player has 5 years of service time or is 28 they& #39;re an UFA.
4. Make the draft, trade deadline, and first day of free agency an event. Encourage teams to go nuts and do something crazy. Have a system that incentivizes testing the market. I want big names moving teams like Mookie Betts.
5. Market you stars! MLB may have the worse marketing of the 4 major sports. NHL=McDavid/Crosby

same to non MLB fans would they know who Juan Soto, Jacob deGrom, or Freddie Freeman are? I doubt it. Hell I stuggled to just think of names for the example and I& #39;m a fan. Promote young talent and the established all stars. Make the game fun and kids and teens will flock to it.
I know this is a rant and the umbrella plan might just be another straw on the camels back. But this constant change from MLB and Manfred is really just annoying as hell to me.
