So an update on that public defender thread: I’ve consulted with the author and a few PDs who either know her or know of the situation. She also shared the Ring video from her mother’s interaction with cops, which I found to be just as she describes it.
... Also, everyone seems to agree that a police agency was harassing her for representing a guy (probably wrongly) accused of attempted murder of a cop, and tried to retaliate by having her arrested on a dubious 7–year-old traffic warrant...
Everyone also seems to agree this was bullshit, and that both police agencies involved are in dire need of investigation, for this and other problems.

But the other PDs who DM’ed me were concerned about other details...
...in the thread that they thought were embellished or inaccurate. They feared these inaccuracies/exaggerations would reflect poorly on her, her office, or her client should someone discern her identity. Or they would reflect poorly on PDs in general.
She strongly disagrees that any part of her thread is inaccurate.

Because she understandably wishes to remain anonymous, it would require a lot of time and effort to investigate the details in dispute in order to confirm or refute them ...
And I just don’t have the time right now to investigate the details of an anonymous Twitter thread that will not result in anything publishable.

But because my retweet of the thread was widely shared, and because some PDs reached out to me with concerns ...
... I felt obligated to look into her main claims. And again, I found that even those who reached out to me with concerns seem to agree that the gist of her story is accurate. They just think some of the details are wrong or exaggerated.

...
In conclusion, you should only tweet pictures of your dog.
One more thing: Please don’t try to dox this PD. I think it’s important and valuable that public defenders share the injustices they witness without fear of retaliation against them or their clients. Doxing her will make future PDs less likely to do so.
