A Thread filled with hints and tips, because no one should be left out of the digital world.
I am not an expert, these are my hints and tips. I'm always learning.

If you have any feedback or would like to contribute drop me a message!😊
#1 Remember Colin the Camel! đŸ«

Capitalising each new word in a hashtag makes it easier for screen readers to read and easier to make out words generally... remember Colin the camel, he's your friend!

#2 Add ALT Text (descriptions) to your images.

Keep them short by focusing on:
Object- the main focus
Action- what it is doing?
Context- the environment

Example:
"A hand is holding a camera against a pink background"

#3 Write in clear, plain language. This will mean your content is understood by more people. Try not to use idioms or other non-literal descriptions. This is particularly important for people on the autistic spectrum & for translation software.

#4 Remember that emojis are read as words. The following would read as 'face with tears of joy pile of poo unicorn'...
makes no sense, right?
Use sparingly and only after important information.

#6 Use slow and steady camera movement in your videos. This makes it easier to watch whilst also reducing the likelihood of seizure-inducing content for people like me who can't quite handle shaky footage or fast-moving shapes.

#7 Use Trigger Warnings. This is particularly important for those struggling with #MentalHealth . By using a TW in your post you give the reader the option to engage and put their health first... It doesn't get much more accessible than that!
