I dont think i'll ever be over how sweetly married Crowley and Az are in Radio Omens đŸ„ș the whole thing didnt even have the entire character arc with Conflicted Az struggling to choose between his loyalty to Heaven and his love for Crowley. Radio Az simply FORGETS to tell (1/?)
Crowley that he had Agnes's book (and even later laments it while trying to decipher the prophecies by saying "Oh I do wish Crowley was here"). Az did try to convince Heaven to stop the war, but there was no indication of his conflict with Crowley. And with Crowley just (2/?)
As ready to admit to his kinship with Az (when Hell tells him in the Bentley stereo: "The angel Aziraphale has been discorporated. You will assist him no further" he replies with "Im sure he'll find his way back") it's evident theyre at a level of comfort already to express (3/?)
Their love not just to each other, but (in light of Armageddon) to their Head Offices as well. Crowley kills Hastur and Ligur in cold blood with no guilt or hesitation before excitedly driving to Aziraphale and Az was also excited to tell him he found Adam before being cut (4/?)
Off. What this adaptation does different from the book and TV is when we first meet Crowley and Azi, we're being introduced to THEM but they're not introduced to EACH OTHER. Az goes "oh it's you, Crawly" and they banter and call each other by their names. The wall isnt (5/?)
Their first meeting. And though theyve yet to get to know one another, the level of comfort they have is already off the charts for two beings supposedly on opposite sides. So it would make sense, in context of this adaptation, that their relationship grows the way it does. (6/?)
In Radio Omens, there is no talk of "We're on our side now" because they not only already ARE on their own side, but they always have been. We dont see a time where they do not know or are still trying to grasp one another's character. They have always been bickering, (7/?)
Teasing, laughing, and having lunches with each other. It's easy to forget that theyre even an angel and a demon because they are so similar, so comfortable, and so in sync. And while I love the TV show with my whole fucking heart, it's soothing to know that (8/?)
There's also a version of them that's already reached the level of love and happiness and freedom that the TV characters were still yearning for, and have done so way before Apocanot even began. And I hold it dear to my heart because we all know they deserve it 💜 (9/9)
