Having 6 juicy premium mids (Salah 12m, Mane 12m, Auba 12, KDB 11.5m, Sterling 11.5m, Bruno 10.5m) is going to cause a lot of Cognitive Dissonance in #FPL this season.
Cognitive Dissonance happens when you have to decide between similar options and the outcomes are uncertain.
What most managers have planned to relieve this dissonance is to rotate between the premium mids. Map their transfers to fixture turns. But that ignores the fact that they will have other more pressing issues in their squad.
Cognitive Dissonance causes very real mental discomfort and will force many hands into chasing points or decision paralysis.
One way to address this problem is to find a way to tell yourself how one of these choices is much better than the other. Create some distance between the choices. I’m using my Base ppm calculation to guide me through this bias
I will have Salah (0.079ppm) or DeBruyne (0.072ppm) in my team for a majority of the fixtures and then use the other 3 (Auba, Mane, Sterling) as 1-2 week punts targeting fixtures or chips. Bruno at 10.5m I will mentally frame as a value outlier and play him through the season
This will be my long-term plan (form permitting) to deal with the Cognitive Dissonance of having to choose between 6 juicy mids. @FFScout_Joe @FplStrategy @JEgersdorff @ffscout_az @FPLGeneral what will you do?
@FPLGOAT7 read your rotating premiums and fwd tweet, pls read this thread about how painful that will be and a strat to deal with it.
