Since Abby Johnson will be appearing at the RNC, I think it would be wise to post a primer on who she is, her history of abusive and racist behavior, and other reasons why she's problematic. This will be a potentially very long thread... 1/x
It all started when Abby Johnson defended the overt white nationalist Kristen Hatten and acted as though she didn't know "Alt Right" meant "white nationalist." She apologized for her mistake later, and that's when it got weird. 2/x https://www.patheos.com/blogs/steelmagnificat/2018/04/you-cant-be-both-pro-life-and-alt-right/
Just over a year later, she had a meltdown and started tweeting incredibly racist things at a Black Protestant bishop for absolutely no reason. 3/x https://www.patheos.com/blogs/steelmagnificat/2019/09/10308/
When she was asked to apologize for this behavior, Abby Johnson started randomly libeling a Benedictine monk she didn't even know, who is Filipino. 4/x https://www.patheos.com/blogs/steelmagnificat/2019/10/10329/
Then, in a very funny punch line, it turned out that the Protestant bishop was actually pro-life all along and that his church ran pregnancy centers and everything. 5/x https://www.patheos.com/blogs/steelmagnificat/2019/10/10392/
Several months later, during the Black Lives Matter protests, she posted a long video saying horrible things about her biracial son and claiming that violence against Black people is brought on Black people by themselves thanks to "bad dads." 6/x https://www.patheos.com/blogs/steelmagnificat/2020/06/my-response-to-abby-johnsons-shocking-racist-manifesto/
Next she came out and admitted that she'd lied about her son being Black in the first place, or at least that's what she appeared to do, maybe there's some other explanation. 7/x https://www.patheos.com/blogs/steelmagnificat/2020/07/what-if-we-re-thought-the-pro-life-movement/
And this is all prescinding from the fact that Abby Johnson's conversion story on which she bases her entire living has been thoroughly debunked by investigative reporters and is highly unlikely to be true. 8/x

So, that's about the size of it. This is the pro-life speaker the RNC chose to represent them: an abusive, narcissistic, overt racist with an extremely dubious conversion story who makes bank on pretending to be sorry. I'll pass.

And @ScottEricAlt has reminded me of this story as well. https://scottericalt.com/abby-johnson-george-floyds-murder-might-be-incompetence-not-racism/?fbclid=IwAR3Wzqvnruu-3QfFr3zo4i_i0dPuA_Y7q62y6-S9dMULx1jcn1kbQb8i9AI
Oh, and I forgot to add: she doesn't believe in a married women's right to vote either. https://twitter.com/kathrynw5/status/1298403963373461505
And as I seem to be going viral, please observe the tip jar at the bottom of any of my blog posts in that thread. I actually live on gratuities from people who like my writing. Thank you!
