Battle of the 5.5m mids - ASM ⚫⚪or Armstrong 😇 (or both 👀)

My first thread as an #FPL Twitter user, all feedback much appreciated...let us begin with the stats:
Allan Saint Maximin ⚫⚪:
xG 2.94 | xA 4.33
IRL Goals 3 | Assists 4
Newcastle 19/20 xG 36.83
Minutes played 1860 ~ 21 games
Games missed through injury/rest - 11
Times featured as a sub - 4
Allan Saint Maximin Positional info:
Steve Bruce tends to alternate Saint Maximin's position across the attacking third. Newcastle mainly play 4-4-1-1 and it's not uncommon to see Saint Maximin feature on either wing or playing off the striker. This depends on whether Newcastle..
can exploit an opposition backline, using Saint Maximin's pace and dribbling to drag players out of position and create goalscoring opportunities. It's not unusual to see him given license to free roam around the final third to try and do damage wherever he identifies possible.
Stuart Armstrong 😇:
xG 3.11 | xA 2.01
IRL Goals 5 | Assists 3
Southampton xG 19/20 57.43
Minutes played 1717 ~ 19 games
Games missed through injury/rest - 8
Times featured as a sub - 11
Stuart Armstrong Positional info:
Context - Armstrong was a bit-part player under Hassenhuttl in the beginning of the 19/20 season. He was primarily a substitute that featured at centre-mid, left mid and as a second striker. It wasn't until after *that* Leicester game that Ralph
gave Armstrong his first start (it was literally the following game). He subsequently started 19/27 games, missing 5 through injury and featuring as a sub 3 times. Armstrong became a key man in Hassenhuttl and Southampton's resurgence. He was utilised by Ralph as a right mid...
in every game. Hassenhuttl identified the importance of Armstrong in leading the counter-press along with Long/Obafemi/Che Adams. It's not out of the ordinary to see him as the second most advanced Southampton player after Ings.
Wrap-up:

Although both of these players didn't set the PL alight this year, whether it be due to settling into a new League or being under utilised at the beginning of the 19/20 season. I fully expect both of them to improve on their G/A figures in the 20/21 season
Saint-Maximin looks like he could be a world-beater elsewhere (sorry Magpies), provided he finds some composure. Very good option at 5.5.

Don't let the price tag put you off Armstrong. He is a key man in a vastly improved Southampton team under a brilliant manager. Great at 5.5.
