google calendar is really frustrating for multiple calendars / accounts

i have a "classes" calendar on my personal account. i want to mark myself as busy during those events on my work calendar. if i copy events they show up twice. if i add my work account as a guest and rsvp yes they show up twice. cool.

btw google lets you share calendars between accounts, if you explicitly invite every account to share every calendar (n*m invites by accts/calendars!)

you can't accept the invite if you're logged in to more than one google account, though. you gotta open a new private window

the whole process is silly and frustrating and poorly-designed. why can't i just see the calendars of all accounts i'm logged into at once? i can do it on mobile (same with contacts and email inboxes on mobile!)
