Enough with the trauma porn. While your intention may be to "bring awareness," remember that America is already aware, it just doesn't care. This is the same country that enslaved Black bodies and gave poor white people the right to police them. (1/ )
This is the same country that replaced slave patrols with police. This is the same country that killed countless Black men and women and gender non-conforming persons in their bed, in their homes, in their cars, in front of their children, (2/ )
...while they were listening to music "too loudly," while they were buying skittles and iced tea. (3/ )
