LRTs As someone developing pitches for adult graphic novels, as a children’s graphic novel designer, and as a comic lover... seriously, where are the adult graphic novels, people? The momentum we see in the kids space should keep going for adult publishers! Readers grow up!

And this isn’t to say they outright don’t exist, but there isn’t the same enthusiasm and prominence afforded to them in traditional book publishing, at least as far as I can see. Not in a way that matches the hunger for graphic novels for kids!

Ok and another thing- we, the adults, we love storytelling, we love complex and beautiful stories, we love goofy camp stuff- look at the tv and the film and the games we gravitate to. TTRPGs are SO POPULAR. There’s obviously an audience that’s ready- we just need to BRING IT.

Also, to clarify, I mean we need this in the mainstream. So many gorgeous works are only available in limited runs, on Kickstarter, in specialty stores... and while we NEED TO KEEP SUPPORTING THESE, we also are missing out on having GNs for adults available EVERYWHERE.

These self pubbed stories from incredible creators DESERVE broader recognition. We should be, as an industry, reaching out to pay these folx and give them a platform to tell their stories.

With all this said, if you're an agent for adult GNs and you're open for querying, I'd love to know!
