Officer Jackson Winkeler was shot and killed on January 5 in Florence, SC after a man opened fire on him during a traffic stop. The man shot him and stole his firearm.

Officer Kaulike Kalama was shot and killed on January 19th in Honolulu, HI after responding to a call where a man had stabbed his landlord. He was shot upon arriving at the scene.

Officer Tiffany-Victoria Bilon Enriquez was shot and killed on January 19th in Honolulu, HI on the same call as Officer Kalama. She tended to the stabbing victim and then was shot as she approached the house.

Trooper Joseph Bullock was shot and killed on February 5th in Martin County, FL after assisting a man whose car had broken down. Trooper Bullock was doing paperwork in his cruiser after the tow truck arrived and the man walked up to his window and shot him.

Officer Nick O'Rear was shot and killed on February 5th in Kimberly, AL when a man opened fire during a vehicle pursuit.

Officer David Kellywood was shot and killed on February 17th in Pine Top, AZ after responding to a shots fired call and struggling with the suspect upon arrival.

Corporal Andrew Gillette was shot and killed on February 25th in Sumter County, SC after attempting to serve a detention order and eviction notice and the subject opened fire.

Officer Brent Scrimshire was shot and killed March 10th in Hot Springs, AR after conducting a traffic stop and the subject opened fire.

Sergeant James O'Connor was shot and killed on March 13th in Philadelphia, PA during a SWAT team operation to arrest a homicide suspect and the suspect fired through the door.

Officer Christopher Walsh was shot and killed on March 16th in Springfield, MO after confronting an active shooter at a convenience store.

Sergeant Ben Jenkins was shot and killed on March 27th in White Pine County, NV after stopping to help a man whose car had broken down. The man shot him, stole his uniform and patrol car and fled.

Commander Greg Carnicle was shot and killed on March 29th in Phoenix, AZ after responding to a domestic disturbance call and while speaking with the occupants, one of the men pulled a gun and started shooting.

Officer Breann Leath was shot and killed on April 9th in Indianapolis, IN after responding to a domestic disturbance call and a man inside fired through the door.

Officer Justin Putnam was shot and killed on April 18th in San Marcos, TX after being ambushed when responding to a domestic assault incident.

Lieutenant Glenn Hutto was shot and killed on April 26th in Baton Rouge, LA after trying to arrest a murder suspect at a home and the suspect opened fire.

Officer Michael Mosher was shot and killed on May 3rd in Overland Park, KS after trying to arrest a hit and run suspect. He confronted the suspect and the suspect drew a gun and opened fire.

Officer Cody Holte was shot and killed on May 27th in Grand Forks, ND after attempting to serve an eviction notice and the suspect opened fire.

Officer Nathan Lyday was shot and killed on May 28th in Ogden, UT while responding to a domestic disturbance call. They confronted the man on the porch, he was uncooperative, ran inside the house and then began shooting as officer's followed

Lieutenant Stephen Williams was shot and killed June 2nd in Moody, AL after responding to a call for service at a motel. While on the scene, one of the suspects opened fire on him.

Sergeant Damon Gutzwiller was shot and killed on June 6th in Santa Cruz, CA while investigating a suspicious vehicle. After following the vehicle to a residence, the suspect got out and began firing.

Deputy James Blair was shot and killed on June 12th in Simpson County, MS while transporting a subject for involuntary psych evaluation. The suspect fought with him, stole his service weapon, and shot him with it.

Officer Julian Keen was shot and killed on June 14th in LaBelle, FL when he attempted to stop and hit and run suspect.

Sergeant Craig Johnson was shot and killed on June 30th in Tulsa, OK after conducting a traffic stop. The subject refused to exit the vehicle, reached under his seat, pulled out a firearm and began shooting.

Officer Anthony Dia was shot and killed on July 4th in Toledo, OH after responding to a domestic disturbance call at a Home Depot. After confronting him, the subject pulled a gun and starting shooting.

Officer Ismael Chavez was shot and killed on July 11th in McAllen, TX after being ambushed during a domestic disturbance call.

Officer Edelmiro Garza was shot and killed on July 11th in McAllen, TX on the same call as Officer Chavez.

Retired Police Captain David Dorn was shot and killed on June 2nd in St. Louis, MO after responding to an alarm at a friend's pawn shop. This was during riots and looting and Dorn was shot by one of the looters.
