Each week @HickeyWriter asks his audience to spread the word about @500SongsPodcast. So, I'm doing that now. A History Of Rock Music In 500 Songs is one of the most well researched, focused and listenable documentary podcasts I've ever listened to.
Hickey manages to navigate the complicated waters of music history, weaving seemingly effortlessly between movements and genres, creators and producers, celebrities and forgotten artists, while remaining affable, relatable and, this is important, kind.
Hickey is one of the most considerate hosts I've ever heard when it comes to acknowledging the experiences of his audience. He addresses head-on his own limitations around certain subjects and fully prepares listeners for sensitive subjects in advance of the episodes.
He also provides full transcripts of each episode in the show notes with additional resources and readings. And he does this once a week in precise half hour episodes.

Plus! You get weekly ten minute bonus episodes if you subscribe to his Patreon.
I wish I had the discipline on my own shows that he has on @500SongsPodcast. It's truly a great show.

And that's my recommend!
