1. I’m coming out of self-imposed twitter ban to express my utter disappointment at @isanet for continuing the unfair electoral arrangement that ensured that there is no genuine
diversity in ISA leadership.

2. 8 p'ple including super qualified Global South Caucus members and another 9 were nominated to contest for the 2021 ISA President and 3 VPs respectively. But the ISA Nominating Committee is giving ISA members no chance to select from these wonderful colleagues.

3. The committee gave no explanation as to why they handpicked the President and the VPs for ISA members but forwarded all nominees for At-Large positions for members to select or indicated why they blocked the other 13 nominees including one supported by over 200 ISA members.

4. Given my commitment to fairness and equity, I can't participate in the undemocratic electoral arrangement until the ISA Governing Council replaces it with a transparent process that gives ISA members real choice and allows for diversity and inclusion in ISA leadership.

5. It is ironic that an association made up of many p'ple who write, teach & preach democracy will have an electoral system that is anything but democratic. The ISA system reminds me of the terrible green room politics of GATT and the worst politics of the UN Security Council.
