The British Empire was evil.

It killed tens of millions (if not more), committed genocides, enslaved millions, it's legacy continues to cause serious socio-economic issues in former colonies, it inspired other lethal expansionist projects, and still fuels racism today.

Period.

Invasion, expansionism, totalitarian rule, genocides, enslavement, exploitation of resources, enforcing British culture on colonised people, separating people based on their skin colour, concentration camps, & so much more - under the banner of patriotism.

We know what that is.

If you're British and this upsets you, if it's uncomfortable for you to read - good, it should be.

But if it's easier for you to attack people that state these facts and portray them as the racists, as divisive, as wrong then you're at best in denial, at worst very sinister.
