If there is economic inequality, applying the rule of law is nothing short of an injustice.
Judging poor destitute people with the same legal metric created for rich people is inhumane. Yes, the rule of law is inhumane.
Legal equality in a classed society is an act of inhumanity.
Take loitering laws for instance. Applying it to homeless people is literally an act of violence.
Same for theft, truancy, substance abuse, etc.
There are many social conditions that leave people vulnerable to all these but you want to judge people as though there aren't? Why?
Legal equality or the rule of law or whatever other buzzwords liberalism wants to give it, by virtue of applying generally laws that disproportionately hurts the poor without eliminating poverty, only serves to deepen socioeconomic inequality and exacerbate oppression.
But we've all been indoctrinated by the system to uphold it as an ideal even in our brutally unequal society. They are literally teaching us to support a system that abuses and dehumanizes us.
