This should honestly be required reading for anyone getting started in Magick (and probably just anyone involved in Magick) https://twitter.com/liminal_warmth/status/1297639813726658560
Recently been getting back into more frequent practise of Magick after a bit of hiatus and a couple of times I've noticed myself going a bit insane after doing it, I'm realising now that it's because some of the basic things I was doing back when I started I'm *no longer doing*
All of the safeguarding stuff that you so desperately need when you start out, I wasn't doing because "oh I've been practising magick for years! I don't need to do all this anymore!" NO. I need it especially now because I've taken such a long break and forgotten all the safety
A couple months back I made the conscious decision to start right at the beginning: re-learn grounding, casting circles, banishing, make sure that my fundamentals are still up to scratch before I start doing any kind of spells. Turns out I'd basically forgotten my fundamentals.
Anyway, since I went over my fundamentals again I've not been going insane despite practising magick, so that's pretty nice

So to reiterate, anyone interested or involved in magickal practice should read this thread
