At a small but beautiful wedding reception this past weekend, the bride's father spoke about his daughter's "last request" on her final night in her parents' home, the evening before her wedding.

She asked if the eight of them could pray their family Rosary, as they had done daily for the entirety of her life.

The father turned toward his daughter, who was visibly glowing in the peace and joy of her new vocation - a girl who was now sacramentally a wife - and told her, "There is no greater gift you could have given to me."

Friends, this is what our daily trials and tears and efforts are all inclined toward. This is the fruit of devout faith and the holy work of parenting, Lord willing.
