I bought a bag o' stamps that feature prehistoric beasts (mainly very cursed dinosaurs) from postal systems all around the world and I've picked the best ones to help put a smile on your face today!
First up, two lovely Hungarian stamps featuring the lovely Stegosaurus and a Tarbosaurus. Old style posture for a theropod but love the stegosaur colours and that funky red gobble bit. I'd give it a tickle.
Next up is a lovely Doedicurus stamp from Cambodia. This beastie is a large mammal related to an armadillo from Patagonia that lived around 2 million years ago. Not sure it's tail was that bendy... I wonder what it's so deep in thought about?
This lovely stamp comes from Laos and features 'oiseaux prehistoriques' - the famous Archaeopteryx. LOVE LOVE LOVE the colours on this stamps - no browns here. Must have been hard to have been so fabulous in the forests of the Jurassic.
We move to Kazakhstan now for a thrashing Mosasaurus. This giant marine reptile lived 82-66 million years ago. A hyper predator of the Cretaceous oceans! The artist has made a lot of soft-tissue embellishments to make it almost crocodile like. Tbh, I like it. A lot.
Now, if there is one thing you can say about the Soviet Union, is that they knew how to design a good stamp. Look the art work. These stamps are so beautiful although the Saurolophus (right) looks shady AF. Is he coveting his neighbours property?
This stamp is from the western Sahara region. It's a wonderfully derpy Edaphosaurus, a large plant eating sail-backed creature from the Carboniferous/Permian (303-272million years ago). Why is it so sad looking?
Here another Edaphosaur but from the postage system of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau. Simple background and lovely drawing. This one looks like it's tail had been put through the wash a few too many times. Not so sad either. I very much enjoy this stamp ♥️
Some slightly cursed dinosaurs from Laos. Love the inset drawings of the environment and the way the dinosaurs overlap the beige squares. Shame their hips would shatter if they walked like this. Maybe that is why they look so Dino-sore.

I'll see myself out.
One for all the fish fans! This stamp from Benin features the iconic Dunkleosteus - the giant armoured super fishy predator from the Devonian (380 million years ago). Love the greenhues, the 'go faster' stripes, and the mottling. This is such an ace pic. 😍
The islands nation of Kiribati has some cool stamps but I picked these two because the Eoraptor and Dilophosaur look very suspicious. The Dilophosaur in particular is up to something. Don't know what yet, but I doubt it'll end well.
Benin absolutely slaying it again with this Dimorphodon. Look at the colours on that beak. The subtle background. The cold dead look in it's eyes as it commutes to work. This Dimorphodon is my mood.
Some very cursed dinosaurs from Madagascar (left) and Western Sahara (right). Don't need to say much here except that the Megalosaurus on the right has snapped its own neck to look at the creature it's about to step on. Ouch. Prob needs to go to A&E for that.
Guinea-Bissau letting us know that lockdown weight is ok with this chonk of a T.rex. what an absolute unit.
This beautiful stamp of a sabre cat (Machairodus) comes from Poland and was illustrated by the famous Czechoslovakian palaeo artist Zdenek Burian in 1966. I don't know what it's called but this art style just is on point.
As if we couldn't get more cursed, these lovely stamps from DRPK show up. Did not expect North Korea to have palaeo stamps but here we are. Good mix of beasts here although they are quite derpy. And I feel like all the animals are watching me.
Now we have a mystery stamp. No writing (other than a DRPK stamp). Did some research online and can find nothing about this stamp. It's some bizarre TV show with a Triceratops skull that is 5-6 times bigger than in life. Pretty weird.
For last I saved my fave stamp from the collection. It's from Hungary and combines a satellite about to crash into a brontosaurus with some dead dinosaurs in the background. What is going on here? Is it suggesting that the space race ended the dinosaurs?
Well that's it. You've seen some of the weirdest and best palaeostamps I've found so far. Let me know if you have any examples!
Bonus stamp. It's not a prehistoric beast but it is adorable and snuck into the set somehow. It's a little pangolin stamp from Indonesia. These critters are the best 😍😍😍😍
