Luka Doncic game 4 thread. Part 1: Pick & Roll reads.
Clip 1: vs. DROP defense: Luka uses the "histage" dribble and when defense recovers, kicks out the ball for Seth Curry to attack the close-out.

Clip 2: vs DROP defense again. He drives right and forces a switch. He exploits his momentum and makes this eurostep lay-up, planting his foot on the second step in order to get an over the top finish, rather than getting by the big man.

Clip 3: this thread is going to be only vs. DROP. This time defensive big stepped a bit higher, so Luka made a skip pass to the corner, giving the opportunity to Trey Burke to attack the close-out. Seth Curry is located too high and defense can't X-out switch in this situation.

Clip 4: driving ont he big man forces a switch, Maxi Kleber back cuts and for some reason, Paul George doesn't follow him and calls for someone else to guard him, resulting to an easy assist for Luka.

Clip 5: usually when a defense plays DROP, weak side players aren't helping on the roll: that's the reason they play DROP to begin with. Weak side defender is too deep and Doncic reads that, kicking the ball out the right time.

Clip 6: use of the "hostage" dribble to make this a 2vs1 situation and an assist to Boban. Defensively speaking, last man should rotate on Boban to prevent the basket and wing defender should rotate to the corner. Then Doncic's defender should rotate to the wing.
