1/ Great q 😘

The best piece of advice I ever got before going on stage was:

“Remember YOU are deciding if the audience is worthy and smart enough for you—not the other way around.”

It changes the power dynamic entirely.

It changes the sense of confidence and peace you bring. https://twitter.com/pheenixdreamer/status/1297704166551359488
2/ The most sensitive people are the ones often asking themselves these questions:

“Will I ever be ok? Will I ever be healed? Will my baggage ever be acceptable to someone else and not cause them to run away fleeing, even if it is done kindly, which somehow can feel even worse?”
3/ But just by virtue of asking that question, having that concern that you’re the one causing something not to last belies the fact of how very special you are.

*You* are anticipating/fearing how your emotions/hurt might rattle up against and aggrieve other people’s boundaries.
4/ You’ve answered your own question in a way. You know you have a tremendous capacity to care and feel and love but you are also human (like we all are) and concerned about how your emotional needs might read like emotional demands. You have greater self-intuition than you know.
5/ The only way out is through. The only way to keep getting better and to fully believe that Jedi mind trick of reimagining the audience/partner is something where you bring the power is to actually attain the power. Learn to be.

Love and forgive the parts of you that you fear.
6/ It can suck a lot sometimes when you’re going through it but when you see that you don’t die after making a little bit of peace with some past trauma, it changes everything. You change. You stop leaking energy and feeling so splintered and can re-integrate your power into you.
7/ You start asking different questions. It’s less about am I un-anything, more about why did I ever underestimate myself this way in the 1st place, what caused me to do so, how can I learn to take care of these aching parts that need mending (incl need to take on all the blame).
8/ 20% of people have a defined genetic trait which makes them a highly sensitive person (often abbrev as #HSP). As much as I ❀ New Age woo, this is science based.

I love this👇which clarified for me why emotional agony is so intense. I find fellow #HSP often relate to my book.
