But i visited Penrhyn Castle with my partner& #39;s family last year and found being in the house v uncomfortable. It was challenging to articulate to them my discomfort because the info i was looking up on my phone was nowhere in the house.
The v knowledgeable tour guides hardly mentioned the slavery links, but there were objects v clearly linked (inc paintings of plantations). I asked at the visitor service desk at the end about the lack of info, and they seemed v aware.
They told me there had been an exhibition the year before, but there was v little legacy of this (i think one text panel, which i missed). I work in a museum with similar issues with interpretation and understand it is a massive task, but that this wasn& #39;t good enough
So this announcement is a really positive step!
