A THREAD ABOUT SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP

Disclaimer: It’s not my intention to sound harsh. I’m just arguing with a mindset.

Have you ever heard people brag and say things like
“I will never submit to any pastor or church” ??

That’s actually the voice of foolishness .
Question : Why bother opening the Bible? .
Because if you read and follow the Bible then your life and your words are in contradiction .

You see Paul was a pastor , Timothy was a Pastor,

All the apostles were spiritual leaders that taught submission to spiritual authority .

Hebrews 13:17 TPT
[17] Obey your spiritual leaders and recognize their authority, for they keep watch over your soul without resting since they will have to give an account to God

for their work. So it will benefit you when you make their work a pleasure and not a heavy burden.

Your relationship with and submission to your spiritual leader is of vital importance .

Littered all across the old and New Testament we see various spiritual relationships .

David and Nathan the prophet , Saul and Samuel , Herod and John , Paul and Timothy , Eli and Samuel , King Joash and Elisha, the Bible called the Israelites the church in the wilderness, Moses was their pastor ! ...... to name a few

Spiritual Leadership has been God’s way

from the very beginning .

So why do you want a minister to qualify to your standards before you listen to what they’re preaching.....
God is the one who Qualifies the called .
The issue is that you believe the dead more than you do the living .

I’ll set an example with King Solomon.
He lived a relatively “wayward” life and eventually turned against God .

But we esteem his words like gold . We Quote it up and down. Some ladies Model their lives to be “Proverbs 31” women because Solomon said ,

It was something His Mother Bethsheba taught him ... but was she herself that Proverbs 31 woman ?

This is in no way invalidating all Solomon taught . I mean then he was the wisest man and the Bible makes us understand that the things written in the OT are for our learning.

The point is you accept all he says so willingly but Yet you want a minister of the Gospel to meet your probably warped standards.

Yes, I know the Bible says pastors will be held to higher standards..... but it’s God’s standard and not mans.

Do you realize that a pastor or minister of the gospel is First a Christian, so the Grace available to you as a Christian is also available to them?

But yet When something bad happens to or with a pastor or a Christian leader, the first people to publish it are other Christians

2 Samuel 1:20 KJV
20 Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.

David said tell it not in gath, publish it not in ashkelon ! Lest the unbelievers rejoice

There is a way matters ought to be handled within the body .

Jesus got in a conversation with some Jews once , the religious folk

Read Matthew 23:29-39
They were saying they wouldn’t have killed the prophets .

Matthew 23:33 KJV
[33] Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Some of the strongest words ever spoken by Jesus , He was a man so full of love and he tells them Relax! you haven’t changed “you’re gonna act just like your daddy”

It’s not much different in today’s world
Many Christians kill their prophets daily with their tweets , posts , publications etc

I dare say that with this attitude, they would have killed Jesus if he walked the earth today

Matthew 23:36-37 KJV
[36] Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. [37] O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen

gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

Matthew 23:38-39 KJV
[38] Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. [39] For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Jesus have the solution!

The solution is the recognition and welcoming of Christ and those who come in his name .

Right now you may be asking “What if my leader doesn’t practice what he/she preaches ?”

That’s easy! Jesus gave the solution too.The Jews had the same complaint

Matthew 23:2-3 TPT
[2] "The religious scholars and the Pharisees sit on Moses' throne as the authorized interpreters of the Law. [3] So listen and follow what they teach, but don't do what they do, for they tell you one thing and do another.

Listen to them and do what they teach as long as they teach the word of God.

The same Jesus knew the leaders , he had called them generation of vipers , but yet he asked them to follow .

This is the word of the Lord to you today.
