When Rahul Gandhi resigned after 2019, there was speculation on who’d be the new INC President.

I had an incredibly interesting conversation with someone in the know that’s extremely relevant again. Without it, INC decisions can’t be understood. The gist:
People who demand a non-Gandhi INC President don’t know much about the current state of politics.

The disbalance of power and resources is incredible. If the new President isn’t from the family, it’s entirely possible that BJP will own the INC President!
Maybe you can find people who can’t be bought, but then there is ED, CBI and the great potential to victimise a person’s entire Khandaan. With the might of the state intent on destroying a person, anyone could crack.

There might be someone who wouldn’t, but that’s a huge risk!
This is something that the Gandhi family understands, I’m told.

I’m seeing a lot of tweets stating nothing wrong with ambition... Well, the hyper ambitious are the first to desert ideology to fulfil their ambitions - so there’s a lot wrong with it!
Indian democracy is already on the brink, of not slightly worse. The last thing we need is BJP just buying off the President of the largest opposition party!

Think about this before you indulge in the ‘cool’ thing and state that the Gandhi family needs to give up space!
Who do you think is there to fill up the space?
