Language should be functional.
A reasonable philosophy for navigation guides: prioritize practical design (e.g. Filipino for Filipino readers, Braille). Presumably English/foreign scripts are targeted to tourists/non-Manilenyos. Callbacks to heritage are a bonus. #BuwanNgWika

Limited public funds + inclusive policies
If you want heritage scripts, spend on public education first so the signs will address the majority, not only the privileged with time to study baybayin. Conversely, alternatives cater to those who need it, and are thus more urgent.

Baybayin vs other writing systems.
Tagalog makes sense because Manila residents speak Tagalog. Etc. I am against any law seeking to institutionalize/nationalize Baybayin as it reinforces Tagalog imperialism.
Better off going through #SupportLocalPH to honor living heritage.

Finished class and saw a lot more one-dimensional rebuttals than hoped for.
So now there's a thread. Thanks!
