[THREAD]

To Muslim Twitter, Especially Twitter Akhs.

Take your time to read this and really process it.
After evaluating and discussing with elders about the situation regarding some brothers on MT, we decided that it’s best for me to come forward and explain what is happening so that it doesn’t happen again. As Mufti Muneer says, one time is a mistake, two times is a routine,—
—and three times is a program that needs to be stopped.

There has been a constant abuse of clout, rank, and “deen” by certain brothers on MT.

I want to preface this by conveying the proper mannerisms of a talib ul Ilm. A talib does not follow muttabarrijat. A talib does not—
—DM sisters for conversation. A talib does not speak to sisters “for the sake of marriage” in a manner that is haram and is simply an excuse to fulfill desires. A proper talib also does not engage in banter on the TL. A talib also does not grow his account for the sake of—
—easing their access to sisters. A talib always makes sure that whatever he is doing, is within the confines of Shariah and is mindful of his responsibilities and expectations as a student of knowledge.

Let’s address the problem at hand, you may know where I’m going with this:
Some errors are greater than others, as some can be overlooked or addressed in private.

But what we cannot overlook is brothers using their clout and “knowledge” to systematically access sisters, whether it's on Twitter, Instagram, or any social media app.

It’s come to my—
—attention, within the last week or so about this happening on MT for the past few years or even a DECADE. I realized that this was something that needs to be addressed and publicly rebuked.

All sins are not the same. If someone commits a sin and makes it a program, and this—
—perpetual behavior is harming an entire group of people, it must be publicly rebuked.

We need to realize also, that some of these interactions were purely consensual at the time.

As a token of advice, SISTERS, DO NOT ENTERTAIN MALE DMs. Sisters who have participated in this—
—perpetual degeneracy are also at fault, BUT they are not the ones using the deen and their clout for ease of access.

I have always expressed my thoughts on this and have a deep hatred for any degeneracy that takes place between the opposite genders.
These are basic etiquettes that any talib with an ounce of ghayrah for their deen, and for their sisters, would live by. With all of this being said, I make dua to Allah that we have been fair, just, and objective in what is to follow this preface.
Muad (@/Sultaan_Mo1, @/_shaybani @/ibnaqeeli)
I want to be clear that this is the kind of behavior that we cannot and will not tolerate, especially from brothers and sisters that represent the deen. This is not some baatil manhaj, that we can allow to become corrupted by our actions. If we claim to be upon the Sunnah, we—
must also live that out to the best of our ability.

Another reality is that there were sisters were engaging in this degeneracy as well.

They are giving individuals the time of day, and they were entertaining this further.

SISTERS, DONT ENTERTAIN PEOPLE IN YOUR DMS.
If someone wants to approach you for the sake of marriage, ok, this is all well and dandy.

BUT if they aren’t asking for some sort of guardianship involvement, like your father, uncle or at least your brothers, then they are IN THE WRONG, and you should BLOCK THEM.
Ahmad (@/Istifhan,@/ahmxdli)
This is behavior that we cannot tolerate as a community. Especially among students of knowledge.
I don’t mean to put tabarruj on your TL, but I needed to make a point here. The sad thing is, this isn’t one incident, this is MULTIPLE incidents, a program.

Wallahi, there is too much evidence of this, it would take more than it is worth to elaborate on every single issue.
This is not a cancel campaign, this is not the next, “I want clout” endeavor, nor is this to score points with sisters.

This is simply based on haqq.

We stand for the haqq and we will establish the haqq.

The sad reality is, there are MAAAAANY other people participating in—
—this degenerate culture. This has to stop. Sisters need to stop on their end, and brothers on theirs. Sisters need to stop encouraging this, defending this, and hiding this.

As Umar رضی الله عنه said, “Take account of yourself before it is—
—taken by Allah.”
[Kitab Zuhd; Imam Ahmad 633]

We did not target these brothers for any reason, beyond the fact they were the ones that were mentioned to us. There were many more pieces of evidence that we could have used and testimonies, but we decided that it wasn’t necessary.
I still want to make it very clear that I have no agenda and no vendetta against these individuals.

Wallahi, I looked up to these people and they inspired me to increase my knowledge and become a proper student of the deen.

Speaking to these people, I would have never known—
—that they were indulging in this behavior.

They always had good manners with me, or so I thought, and showed me kindness and acceptance.

I made lots of dua for these people in my daily duas and nightly tahajjud.

To find out that this was what these individuals were—
—indulging in was heartbreaking for me and for other brothers who were inspired by them. I cried for 2 nights, feeling extremely betrayed and disgusted.

I hope these individuals deactivate their accounts and they sincerely repent from these sins, if they haven’t done so already.
[Disclaimer: none of the above screenshots involved conversations with me]

This is a screenshot from many many months ago, when I had first began to become active in getting to know brother Muad.

It’s sad and heartbreaking that I’m having to type this out.
I am simply advising, take it or leave it.

May Allah ﷻ forgive me for any mistakes I made when doing my research, when typing this out, and with this thread.

I ask you all to forgive me for my shortcomings, as I am nobody pious and am prone to making mistakes myself.
Brother Ahmad confirms that this is something that is happening/happened.

He wants to make a point that it was not 4 girls rather it was 2.
My final remarks before I take a break:
Wallahi this does not reflect the actions of all the tulab on this app. There are very sincere and righteous brothers that associated with brother Muad and brother Ahmad, and we’re close friends with them and in their GCs. This is not—
—reflective of every single individual that associated with them.

Asalamu alaikum.
