Studies that make the news are, pretty much by definition, those that give a newsworthy result. Something unexpected, and surprising. But most such studies are never replicated, even when people try. They& #39;re not fake. They may not even be flawed. The results are just wrong. 2/
"New study finds..." should make you think "We need more studies of that" but not "Well, that& #39;s proven." Only when there are *many* studies showing the same result do you really think about proof. And even then you have to be careful about what exactly they prove. FIN 3/3
