They shot a man repeatedly in the back for trying to break up a fight in front of his children. I don't want to ever hear "Who are you doing to call for help without the cops?" again. They offered no help and only trauma and death to everyone present in that neighborhood today

For the last few weeks I have been trying to explain America and guns and police. And I don't actually have an explanation except to point out that America isn't sliding towards fascism. We were built on its roots before that term was coined. And we keep running back to our roots

I saw the video & I know an execution when I see one. And there's literally nothing you can tell me about what I saw that will justify the way they are going to attempt to put that man on trial for being murdered. America is its own apocalypse in slow motion.

And before you say a word to me about unrest or the right way to protest or looting or..whatever MLK quote you might want to misuse? Violence is apparently the only language, the only question, the only answer America has on offer. Don't like that? Do something about it. Now.

His name was Jacob Blake. He deserved better. His children deserved better. May his memory be a comfort and a blessing to those who knew him and loved him.
