folklore: the sleepless night chapter theories. a thread;

I'm pretty sure the storyline is the playlist in reverse. so it starts with mad woman and ends with exile

i have a feeling it's about Taylor and the media accusing her of multiple things

1. mad woman

as i said this is the media giving the false image that Taylor is this serial dater that would do anything for fame and success.

(note: i'm only analyzing the titles in this thread)

2. this is me trying

she's trying to tell the world that what the media is saying is wrong. she wants the world to know that she worked very hard on her work

3. illicit affairs

this song is probably about all the dating rumours surrounding her career. how in all her relationships, there are always rumours of drama about it

4. my tears ricochet (part 1)

I first thought that this was about the drought era and 2016, but then it doesn't quite fit into the last two songs. so i had a second theory which i'm not so sure about

second theory: it's about her moving on and choosing not to care about what the media says about her

5. hoax

now this I'm more confident that this is about the drought era/2016. the whole world has turned against her. she believes no one supports her or will listen to her. everything just seems dark

6. exile

and in the darkness, there was light. during the time away from the rest of the world, she found happiness in exile.
