WARNING: Police fire several shots at point blank range towards the back of an unarmed Black man walking away and into a car in #Kenosha Wisconsin. Neighbors report that he was trying to break up a fight between 2 women. Why the use of lethal force?

The man who was shot, #JacobBlake, is just 29 years old. A woman who witnessed the shooting just feet away was hysterical in the aftermath.

Witnesses allege that Jacob Blake (aka #JakeBlake) was shot in front of his children. We must ask why police officers continue to use lethal force against unarmed Black people.

Also, Wisconsin is an open carry state where white men brandished weapons at the State Capitol this April to protest #COVID health restrictions. These men are all sleeping in their bed soundly tonight.

The #BlackLivesMatter protests occurring across our country are about this untenable dichotomy. Too many Black people with good intentions and arms wide open are gunned down while white people who are armed and ready to shoot to kill are given white glove treatment by the state.

Kenosha, Wisconsin police officers are responding to this traumatic incident by firing tear gas at people who have assembled in protest of the shooting of Jacob Blake.
