i dont think anyones going to see this given that i only have a handful of followers, but the comparison between the us and nazi germany is not far off [a ranting thread]
ww2 began in 1939, the bulk of the holocaust began in the early 40s. before that, there were killings and arrests (and people snatched off the streets in unmarked vans🤭) but not on the scale that would later occur +
in the 20s, the nazis were a fringe group that were looked down upon. hitler rose to fame through fear, warning that jews and communists would destroy their great country and promising to “make germany great again” (an actual quote)
amerikkka shares many frightening resemblances to early fascist states, especially in regards to police brutality, treatment of migrants, suppression of protestors, and hate crimes
in the 30s, most white, gentile, hetero germans didnt notice much wrong in their own lives, unless they were communists, socialists or antifascists (antifa) ofc ++
jewish people, disabled people, lgbtq people and other minorites did notice something wrong. here in the us, in 2020, i know migrants and poc that lived in constant fear of contact with the police. no democracy has rampant police brutality like in the us +
the us has a legacy of 400 years of racism, anti semitism, xenophobia, sexism and ableism ingrained in the system. and its only getting worse. since trump took office, hate crimes have risen and neo nazis have clearly become more comfortable being public about their hate
the nazis were literally inspired by jim crow laws about how if you have even one drop of nonwhite blood, you are condemned. and the fucking NAZIS deemed it too harsh. THE FUCKING NAZIS DEEMED RACIST AMERICAN POLICIES TOO HARSH. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.history.com/.amp/news/how-the-nazis-were-inspired-by-jim-crow
the holocaust didnt happen overnight. it was a long process of normalization of violence, anti semitism and racism, hate speech and rhetoric, and commonplace police brutality that paved the way for the event that stole 12 million lives.
i know i only have a few followers, but this is extremely important and i had to say it to the two people who will read this threat [END OF THREAD]
