If a Graha (ग्रह) is considered as person, their “Exaltation“ (Uchha) can be compared with elated & joyous state of his/her mind.

These Rashis of exaltation r akin to the “places” wherein a particular Graha loves to be in!
Similarly consider opposite for the debilitating places.
Likewise, Rashis assigned for own & Mool-Trikon.
Focus of this thread is only on Exaltation (Debilitation is understood along)

Various rationale (तर्क) r given for “why” of it that includes Tatwa in sync with nature of a Graha, Nakshatra & such. While it has merit & certainly contributes in formulating the concept, it doesn’t seem the primary one. Something convincing is needed covering all Grahas. 3/

The one that appealed me the most personally is the theory of “Kaal Purusha”.
This idea quite convincingly explains why certain Rashi is considered as exaltation for certain Graha by ancient seers - those who revealed this amazing knowledge to the world.

Taking up each graha, I’ll try to explain it here to the best of my knowledge and ability.

Kaal purusha’s 1 st Bhav is Mesha, 2nd is Vrishabha, 3rd is Mithun and like wise 12th Meen
That is the mapping of the universal being called काल पुरुष. This will help us in decoding the rationale of exaltation / Debilitation of a Graha. 6/

Surya (Sun) is the King! He is most happy in complete authority. The centralized power. He is also considered the Self (Aham - i) in all beings. Thus he enjoys the 1st Bhav of KP the most. Mesha rashi is the one which is thus considered the sign of Exaltation for him (Sun).

Chandra (Moon) has motherly instincts. Moon is the Karaka of Mother and indicates nourishment. Mothers milk feeds & is the primary nourishment that sustains an infant child coming to the world.
2nd Bhav of feeding, nourishment & sustenance is thus the favorite place for Moon. 8/

Thus, Vrishbha (2nd Bhav of KP) is the place which is liked by the Moon most.
His most fav consort Rohini’s presence in Vrishabh is the added reason of Moon’s happiness for Moon. There is another philosophical reason added but let’s leave it for now.

Let’s consider the Guru - the Brahman Purohit. The preceptor of Devas.
Guru is most happy when sitting at home and engaging in rituals or lost in meditation on heart cave or imparting knowledge to his disciples sitting in his own premises called as गुरुकुल.

No doubt that he is also the chief advisor/minister of the King and has political duties to discharge which is 9th bhav (Dhanu). But then it is related to his office (duties) & thus his “Mool Trikon”. It needs him to go out of his most liked place to discharge royal duties.

Naturally, the place which is liked by Guru, where he is most happy & content is the Home, the heart cave, the Gurukul which is the 4th Bhav of KP.

Mercury is a master of debate and he fully enjoys debating and competing by throwing arguments arguments (Tark-Vitark and even kutarks). Mercury wants to "win" every debate. The 6th Bhav is of arguments, legal profession, lawyers, quarrels, debates. Mercury loves this place 13/

It is very common astrological knowledge that Venus (Shukra) is the only Grah that fully enjoys being in 12th Bhav. 12th Bhav is connected to many seemingly contradictory aspects. It denotes pleasures derived out of sexual union on one side while bliss of liberation.

Bliss of liberation on the other end. Shukra is the Graha which denotes pleasure, love, Pramad while not many are aware that He also denotes extreme "Tapas"!
12th Bhav is the house of confinement in Hospital while Shukra carries "Sanjivani" knowledge with him. 15/

It is indisputable fact that Shukracharya (Venus) completely enjoys 12th Bhav for various reasons as described in previous tweets and thus Meen rashis which is in the 12th Bhav of KP is the favorite sporting/picnic area of Venus. Jal Tatwa sync of Shukra and Meen also helps. 16/

Mars is the "Senapati" of Grah cabinet! The hot blooded
one who enjoys to be in place of his duty. Mars always wants to be outside at work. He is the commander in chief who likes to command, is workaholic and derives maximum happiness in that. 17/

The restless Commander, Engineer who can't sit @ the comfort of home or can't handle tender emotions (debilitates in 4th Bhav -Cancer). Thus 10th Bhav of work place, field of duty is also the place of exaltation.
Thus Makar, 10th Bhav of KP, is the exaltation Rashi for Mars 18/

Shani and Rahu are left. Will take it up tomorrow or day after.

Surya is the SELF, "I". Shani is the opposite - WE!
Surya is elite, exclusivity. Shani for masses.
Lagna is the "Self" and 7th is the "others". 7th bhav is also called Jaaher Jeevan (society/people one engages with).
Sun loves to be exclusive. Shani loves to be among masses. 20/

Thus Shani enjoys the position that is 180 deg opposite to that of his father - Surya.
7th Bhav of KP, i.e Tula, thus becomes the place where Shani exalts and 1st Bhav i.e. Mesha where he becomes sad (debilitation). Vice versa for Sun.
Tula is also conducive to the innate 21/

nature of Shani which is "Nyaay / weighing scale of Karmas". Tula being "Vayu" tatwa is also in sync with the Shani's Vaat tatwa. However, primary is the KP mapping and logic thereof as i have conclusively described in this long thread.

One relevant comment here with Shani. Without Shani's power and blessings, one cannot sway masses. Positive popularity is masses is given by Shani.

Lastly, i come to Rahu. He is Daanav. Decepetive, propagandist who amplify things & blow out of proportion, sexually addicted & unceasingly action oriented (check today's daanavas-they don't stop putting in efforts even if repeatedly defeated).
Which bhav is fitting the best? 24/

Reverse engineering will be more helpful to come to conclusion. Which Bhav Rahu comparatively possibly enjoys more?
The 2nd Bhav (Vrishabha) or 3rd Bhav (Maithuna)?
We have to keep in mind that, in 2nd Bhav (Vrishabh) is the place where enemy of Rahu, i.e. Moon is exalted. 25/

3rd Bhav of KP, i.e. Mithun is the bhav of "Action" and part of Kaam Trikona. Mithun is Vayu tatwa which is in perfect sync with Rahu and Mithun also signifies sexual union with which Daanvas are obsessed.
However, the most clinching point for me is "Action"!

The biggest positive and innate quality of a Daanav is unceasing, relentless efforts towards their goal. Here they defeat Devas.
All these arguments put up on 3rd Bhav, Mithun as well as Rahu's nakshatra in Mithun support Mithun better for happiness of Rahu than Vrishabh. 27/

It must be noted that this is a comparison for selecting better Rashi between two very good Rashis for Rahu. That makes it clear that Vrishabh is also very good sign for Rahu. Like Mercury, Shukra is also great friend of Rahu.

Let me also make a case in favor of Vrishabh.
Rahu may derive sadistic pleasure in disrupting the "picnic spot" (Uchha Rashi) of his enemy Moon when the latter is enjoying company of his beloved Rohini!
So yes, Rahu may like Vrishabha so that he spoils the party of Moon. 29/

We have indeed seen that Rahu (like Shani) creates huge troubles across globe from his transit through Rohini. Thus Vrishabh is of liking for Rahu in this sense. However, it is the acquired trait out of the animosity with Moon (& Sun) due to a past incidence. 30/

In comparison, "Action" is the innate &natural trait of Rahu, the Daanav. We can make use of this extremely positive quality of "Rahu" within us.
NaMo & Mota Bhai could defeat the outright Rahuvian forces in our country as they used/using this quality of Rahu within them. :) 31/

Thus to summarize, Rahu's natural picnic spot is clearly 3rd Bhav-Mithun which is additionally having Vayu tatwa, offering maithuna and Rahu's own Nakshatra.
This thread is my rationale for "Uchha" Rashis of various Grahas after comprehensively thinking it through.
