Hours ago, police officers shot an unarmed Black man seven times in the back. He is currently in serious condition.

No justice. No peace.

The man’s name is Jacob Blake. We are praying for him to pull through.

Update: Large crowd of protesters are heading to the Kenosha Police Station.

Update: Wisconsin Governor @GovEvers has released a statement on the police shooting of Jacob Blake, in Kenosha.

Evers writes that “we stand against excessive use of force and immediate escalation when engaging with Black Wisconsinites.”

Update: Protesters have reached the police station and are demonstrating in front of it.

Police are in riot gear and are reportedly getting ready to deploy tear gas.

Reports that Jacob has died are currently unsubstantiated.

Protesters have broken into the Kenosha County Courthouse and set part of it on fire.

Chants of “no justice, no peace” can be heard in the background.
