#AdiShankara

Adi Shankara came to Shringeri where HrishyaShringa had meditated earlier. In his ashrama, there was a boy called Giri who was considered to be a dullard by all.

Giri however thought, "Isn't it enough if Acharya knows my ability?" and went on with his work

/1
One day he was late to class as he was washing his clothes. Acharya said, "Let's wait for Giri.." for which some students made fun and compared him to a wall

Acharya decided to teach a lesson and waited for Giri. Through yogic powers, he blessed Giri with abundant knowledge

/2
Giri was asked to give a discourse for which he presented verses in tōTaka vRtta (meter) praising his guru. The other students ego was removed and they were humbled at their ignorance.
