Has anyone seizing on this COVID “miracle cure” given even half a thought as to where it must come from?

By definition, it is plasma harvested from those who have survived COVID. Donating plasma is no joke. It’s not at all like donating blood ...

Surviving Covid is like running a marathon that continues to kick your ass months after you cross the finish line.

Who suffering through that is a) going to want to endure the rigors of plasma donation and b) should be putting any kind of unnecessary strain on their body?

And you can bet that there will be a high demand for convalescent plasma, especially now that it is being presented as a miracle cure.

How exactly will supply meet that demand?

Plasma is *donated*

How long until they start to compel “donations” do you think?

And that doesn’t even get into the scam that is regular plasma donation.

Centers for donating plasma are all over poor neighborhoods. You get a pittance to have your blood drawn to get the plasma spun from it.

But these privately owned companies turn around and resell for $$$

How long before this predatory practice is applied to disadvantaged survivors of Covid who are out of work & looking at eviction & otherwise struggling?

And they will literally be opening their veins to produce a treatment you can bet will be handed to the top bidders first.

And let us be painfully honest.

Those being bled for plasma and those benefiting from that bleed?

Those two groups will fall sharply along racial lines.
