For those who cannot be bothered to read my articles on why Inerrancy is both illogical and improbable, here are the key points.

1. Inerrancy is based on the original docs. We do not have them. We have never had them. We have no verifiable way to know what they say.
2. Inerrancy means that the transmission of the wording between god and the writers had to be perfectly flawless. There are only two ways that is possible: Either god controlled them and they had no agency (automatic writing) or god dictated (Dictation theory)
Inerrantists reject both views. Therefore they are stuck.

3. The Bible never claims to be inerrant. The doctrine is one of necessity because of other doctrines.

4. The Bible never claimed to be the Bible. It has never been self-aware enough to know there are other sections.
5. The Bible is translated. Almost everyone reads a translation and bases their beliefs on a translation, which is based on the copies of originals we don’t have, have never had. And every translation is different. We don’t know what it means.

6. Inerrancy is unnecessary
You can believe in god’s existence without it. What you can’t do is endorse a denomination or a church’s belief that they are the most correct without it.

Thus, the only people who require inerrancy are those who want to control others.
