THREAD: I’m procrastinating so I’m gonna do a thread of all the drugstore makeup I use on a hella limited budget— a broke girl’s guide to looking cute

First, eyeliner— I live by NYX Epic Ink Eyeliner, it’s around $8 and wearing it everyday it’ll last you three months. If you’re running out and need to get extra juice outta it, leave it upside down for a few days. I have eyeliners from 6 months ago that I still use

More eyeliner— to rim my eyes I use Kajal Kohl eyeliner from Maybelline. It’s $9 and it will last at least 6 mo. even if you use it every day. There’s hella product in the eyeliner. I also use it to rim my lips because sometimes lipliner runs out quickly and I want more pigment.

For lipstick— drug store lipstick is tricky because it’s either highly pigmented but it dries your lips out or it’s glossy and hydrating but it disappears in two seconds

So I start with rosy lips Vaseline to protect my lips— she’s like $3 and she lasts forever. I’ve been using the same little tub since senior year of high school.

Then I apply lipstick on top of my lips now that they are protected from drying out— NYX has $5 matte lipsticks that last a long time and are highly pigmented.

I line the outer edge of my lips with black Kohl eyeliner, then I line the inside with NYX matte lipstick in Siren red, and then I fill in the center with NYX lipstick in Alabama red. All this emphasizes the fullness in ur lips. I then add gloss on top for pigment AND dimension

Which gloss? Shany cosmetics has the best gloss I’ve ever used. $15 for 15 lip glosses online. You heard that correctly. All of them are hella pigmented and go on like butter. You can’t be disappointed.

The product lasts forever too!! Also, a great way to reduce the amount of lipgloss you use to save the product is by just applying it to the center of your lips. All you need to do is add that bit of shine to the most prominent part of your lip and you’re set.

Mascara— I love benefit cosmetics mascara. In high school I’d get free samples when they had prom dress giveaways. But normally it’s hella expensive so I have a perfect dupe— essence volume Stylist mascara. It lengthens, it volumizes, it does it all for $5...

I don’t wear mascara everyday so my eyelashes have time to rest. When I did, I applied it in layers to prevent clumping. When I was running out of mascara, I only applied it to the tip of my eyelashes so that it was just enough to make my lashes curl.

Skincare— I don’t put anything on my skin because concealer/foundation is the one thing that’s hard to find a dupe for. It’s important to have quality products because a drugstore brand can cause you to break out. I just wash my face with Aveeno Acne wash once or twice a day.

I also use Thayers facial toner to tighten my pores— $11 and it’ll last awhile.

For a bad breakout, I use a tiny bit of Neutrogena spot treatment. It dries the area out a bit, but not all of us can afford fancy skincare products so we make do.

Okay now for eyebrows— I’m still testing the field for cheap, good eyebrow products. When I was younger and RLY broke I used a paintbrush and eyeshadow that matched my eyebrow to do my eyebrows and it worked. Eyeshadow palettes are a lot cheaper than eyebrow products.

But now I use total temptation brow definer by Maybelline. It lasts a lot longer than other pencils and it’s only $6. You can get 4-5 months out of it. With cheap eyebrow products less is more. If you overdo it, it’ll look powdery because it’s a cheap product.

Follow the natural curve of your eyebrow when you fill it in and let the eyebrow brush become ur best friends. You don’t need more product, you just need to get the hairs be on the same page when it comes to where they’re going.

For fun eyeshadow looks— I live and die by NYX Off Tropic palette. Highly pigmented. It will stay on. A little more expensive, it’s around $20 but it will work.

For highlighter, I use Master Chrome by Maybelline. $8! Very pigmented so use sparingly!

Finally for blush— Milani rose blush for $10. I haven’t run out and it’s been 3 years.

Also a random lil tip— I grew up buying $3 hoops but they can hurt ur ear if ur allergic.
