There are two kinds of NY’ers right now—the pajama class, still paid to sit home and work from their couch and willing to follow every backward directive by elected officials and the rest of who need the city to open now. Enough. My Mon column in @nypost https://nypost.com/2020/08/23/its-time-to-loosen-lockdown-rules-for-restaurants-and-others/">https://nypost.com/2020/08/2...
The rules make no sense but people are afraid to say so because they are, actually, facing repercussions when they do. The pajama wearers have to speak up right now or risk losing the city they say they love. https://nypost.com/2020/08/23/its-time-to-loosen-lockdown-rules-for-restaurants-and-others/">https://nypost.com/2020/08/2...
You can’t go out for a drink before dinner. You can’t meet up with friends afterward. There is nowhere to eat after 11pm IN NEW YORK CITY. None of this has anything to do with science. Enough.
You can go hear live music but only if you don’t have to pay a cover. You can not go to the gym but you can have a personal trainer come to your home (or a random fancy shoe store if you’re Chris Cuomo’s wife.) None of it makes any sense. None of it is based in science.
I admit I am of that pajama class. I worked from home before the pandemic and I do now. But being a New Yorker my whole life means that my universe of people are mostly not the pajama people. And they are suffering. https://nypost.com/2020/08/23/its-time-to-loosen-lockdown-rules-for-restaurants-and-others/">https://nypost.com/2020/08/2...
