Now that I've given up on living in the US, I can finally be honest with you people.
You think you're special when you're just lucky.
America is first and foremost a tax haven.
It's like the Caymans but a bit bigger that's all. That's the only reason people come here and stay.
They certainly don't come here because it's not racist or because "freedom" and "democracy" they just come to America so they'll be able to squirrel away more money.
The obvious consequence is that America is as functional band well governed as the Caymans. Which is to say it's not and can't be.
I'm not talking about the little people in America, who do not matter anyways. I'm talking about the wealthy, who do matter.
A lot of people, especially my friends in the left, keep saying that America has failed. It has not. It is working exactly as intended.
All the wonks who go 🤔 at the US government response to the pandemic don't want to face the fact that the US government is responding exactly the way it was designed for. The little people don't matter and are replaceable and disposable.
Everybody in the US tries to escape the lower rungs of society and become wealthy enough to not be one of the disposable little people. That's the American dream: ascend to the higher spheres of wealth where practical socialism is the norm.
America: fully-automated, dynastic luxury socialism for the wealthy, and Ayn Rand for the little people.
And I'm not even going to discuss guns and the police. Because fuck it.
So yeah yeah yeah Kamala Biden. Sure they'd handled things a bit differently. And will not put migrant kids in concentration camps so there's that. Perhaps they'll do like Roosevelt. It would be a good thing. I hope they do, for your sake. Good luck to you all.
Meanwhile go mine the moon and plant your stupid flag on Mars you morons.
