It's bizarre to me how much of Western Evangelicalism has mixed their gospel with a Nietzschean Will to Power - that is, a desire to subjugate others to their own worldview and influence.
They, of course, would never see or express it that way, but their willingness to openly court and acquire political influence in myriad ways betrays this reality - they wish to love their neighbours, but only on their own terms.
That this desire is antiGospel and unChristian seems irrelevant, as does the logical thinking that would point out the obvious contradiction of attempting to fuse these mutually exclusive things into a singular.

This is me using far too many words to say: this is bad, stop it.
Some might read this and think: "But our worldview and influence is heavenly and inspired by Jesus" - and even if that's the case, ask yourself why Jesus didn't use his 33 years to seek political power or to establish His kingdom right then and there.
Or, as someone reminded me a couple of hours ago, Jesus taught them to pray "Your Kingdom come, Your will be done" even though the true King was right there teaching them. It wasn't His time to reign then, and it still isn't now. Stop trying to force it with two bit hacks.
And yes, it is presumptive of me to say "some might read this," but that presumption is what Twitter is made of. :)
