While I'm on this superhero train of thought I recall seeing a while ago a post contrasting Superman and Batman and their conflicting worldviews.

It went something like Batman sees the world as innately flawed and needs to be put right by force.-
While Superman sees the world as already right but something went wrong and needs to be corrected. A neat take but I think it works better if flipped.
Like Batman, as the billionaire who works with authority, is the status quo crusader. Put things back the way they were before the Joker or Penguin or Two-Face did the thing. Put the world back to the way things were.
But the beauty of Superman is that he is the one sent to a broken world to bring a better way. "They can be a great people. They just need you to show them the way."

He's a pretty overt metaphor for Moses after all.
And Superman is about showing the world a new way, but one where he leads by example and not force.

I'm tired with the grimdark. I think we need the Big Blue Boy Scout now more than ever.
You want Batman and Superman to be at odds? This is how. Batman thinks Superman is a dangerously destabilizing force who could cause anarchy as easily as utopia and he can't take that risk. Superman thinks Batman is defending a deeply flawed system.
Batman: Superman is an innately powerful alien who can't relate to the mortals he moves among. He'll have no worries if he accidentally creates a worse world than the one we're in now. He might even change planets again.
Superman: Batman's power is wealth and his heroics are innately self-serving as he defends and upholds the system that provides him wealth. He'll never truly solve his city's problems as they are linked to what gives him his power.
No, do not look to me to helm a DC project because all I would come up with is 3 hours of gratuitous Ferdinand fan service.
