With Paris Saint-Germain unfortunately losing the Champions League Final, I thought I’d make a Thread on what this could mean for Mbappe’s Career..

First off I’d just like to say that although Mbappe didn’t play well today, missing multiple chances, it’s important not to be reactionary. He’ll learn from these mistakes and grow as a Footballer and as a person.

I think Mbappe losing tonight could be the turning point in his career. He was always going to reach World Class levels, of course. However, i think now he could genuinely go that step further. Quite Similar to when Ronaldo lost in the 2009 Champions League Final vs Barcelona (1)

Ronaldo was always going to be the best player in the world, that was obvious. However, I don’t think he would of quite reached these levels if it weren’t for that final. I wonder what he’d say about it. That feeling of losing built up his incentive to winning in my opinion. (2)

One similarity between the 2 is that they both experienced winning at the highest level at very young ages. Ronaldo winning the Champions League at the age of 23 and Mbappe winning the World Cup at the age of 20. (3)

Saying this, however, they’ve now also experienced losing huge finals at the young ages of 21 and 24, respectively. Now look how’s Ronaldo’s career went after the final. I think something similar could happen with Mbappe. He will use to this to push himself (4)

Mbappe obviously won’t reach the exact levels of Ronaldo - that’s near impossible but I think he can go very far. If you look at all the top athletes, the way they reached incredible heights was by experiencing how losing feels like so they can push themselves next time. (5)

Mbappe has shown incredible signs of talent at such a young age. Just to mention a particular stat, In the UCL, Getting 33 G/A in 34 games is a great return. Pending which club he moves to, I think he will get 2/3 Balon D’ors in his career minimum (6)

Just to clarify, I dont think Mbappe will be the “next Ronaldo”. He is a completely different player. I simply compared their career paths and how Mbappe can follow suit. End Of Thread. Likes and RT’s Appreciated (7)
