I think this is much ado about a distinction without a difference. 57% of voters inferring that this question is asking “Do you still support the president even after 170k+ preventable COVID deaths” and not “are those deaths acceptable” is...still horrifying?
I also think we need to acknowledge that at least a few of these 57% answered the question as asked. I think we can assume that considering the amount of Republicans who simply don’t believe the virus is real, or don’t believe the death toll is accurate.
I’m simply confused about what this thread was trying to accomplish. “These legacy media pundits are clutching their pearls about the *wrong* terrible thing!” seems like a stupid hill to even climb up, let alone die on.
